The Time you Put in will Pay Off

Catherine Pere

Ever had one of those “typical mom days?” Yes — we are talking about the days where you feel like everyday’s the same old routine. You start the day by waking up earlier than everyone else. You get ready for your job and proceed to do all the things needed to get your kids up and going. Of course, you made sure you had it all down to the last detail because the unnecessary stress or delay is something you wouldn’t want to add to your jam-packed day. Finally, you come home from work, only to find your kids are already fast asleep and it still seems like you haven’t fulfilled your “mom duties”. Does this feel familiar? Like most parents out there, this too, was Catherine Pere’s life.

Catherine Pere, one of our valued advisors, came to Canada in 2013 with her whole family. Shortly, she became a single mom in the following year. Despite all the challenges she faced, she found a way to become the mother that she striving to be for her kids. As we continue to honour our great moms this month of May, we hope Catherine’s story inspires you to trust your process and believe in yourself.

“The Greatway values have helped me as a single mom. The business truly invests in happiness. It allows us to spend more time with our children. It is through Greatway that I have come to say that I have more freedom with my time.

I used to have two full-time jobs, where I had to work overnight. A typical day for me consisted of getting ready for my day job, then getting my children up and ready for school. In the evening, I would them up from the sitter and rush home so I can cook them dinner. I then assisted them with their homework, eat dinner, and then get them ready for bed. For most people, this is the end of their day but for myself, there was another job waiting for me. This went on for about 5 years.

Now that I am a full-time advisor in Greatway, I can truly say that I spend most of my time with my kids. They’re very supportive and they look forward to trips with Greatway, like the Caribbean Cruise we went on back in 2019. We are now closer as a family than we were before. It really opened doors for me to train my children on how to deal with people and to not take objections personally. Doing this business has been so good for me and family. It has helped me connect with other parents who have become close friends and eventually, clients. It also gave my children more friends to have play dates with. My business continued to grow after becoming a Certified Field Trainer. Then, the pandemic hit.

For most people, this pandemic has been devastating but for me, it has been a blessing in disguise. It didn’t come without a challenge though. This was a face-to-face business. We needed to adapt everything to an online process. The transition was difficult for me. I really loved meeting people in person. There was so much training, and you needed to catch on fast. I was very hesitant, but my SVP told me, “Either you jump on board, or you sink and drown.” I woke up after being in a rut and forced myself to learn. We were training like crazy. Sometimes 6 hours straight, every day for 3 weeks.

We are now reaping the benefits of technology. I am able to continue on with my business and have even more time with my children. In the morning, I cook, and we eat together, then, I get ready to do business in the comfort of my home. No more running out of time driving to get my kids from school and rushing to an appointment. It has been an amazing experience for my children and myself. We’re always together and I can be there for them whenever they need me.

I advise mothers to ask themselves, what do they really want to achieve? What is their vision for their family’s future? To achieve out goals, we need to sacrifice a lot of time in the beginning but eventually the time you put in will pay off. It is after this that we can resume our duties and comfortably achieve our goals.

I would like to remind mothers and everyone else, that, to accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream. We must not only plan, but also believe! As the Bible says, “All things are possible to them that believe!” It doesn’t matter the season, the year, or what is currently happening. If we believe and put in the effort, we will definitely achieve whatever we set our minds on.

If someone is just discovering Greatway during the pandemic, I would tell them to grab it right away! This is one of the best things that can for you and your family especially in this time of uncertainty. First of all, we have to accept change, and second, we have to embrace the change and run with it. Looking at every other company out there, a lot of people are inconveniently getting laid off. Greatway has proven to me that they move with and adapt to change. It proved to me that this opportunity is a gold mine. Many people can benefit from the Greatway system.

It does not matter how things look. Just keep doing what you’re doing and keep working. Believe in God, believe in yourself, and believe in Greatway. As long as you believe, things will work out. If you keep believing and keep working, good things will happen. Good things will come. Whenever I think nothing is working, I just keep at it and God proves to me that I am blessed in good faith. With the Greatway system, it is certain that we are capable of achieving great things.
