Greatway Hosts Its First-Ever Women’s Conference in Calgary
Her Greatway · Calgary
This past weekend in Calgary, Greatway Financial hosted its first-ever Her Greatway Women's Conference. Two days set aside for the women in our community to step out of their routines and into a different kind of room.
We didn't build a typical industry agenda. There were no rankings, no sessions on closing techniques, no slides around numbers.
Instead, we made space for something that often gets pushed aside in this line of work: time to pause, time to think, to feel, and time to talk to each other without an outcome attached.
The women who attended are agents, leaders and students. They are also mothers, grandmothers, sisters, partners, caregivers, and friends. They came carrying what many women in this industry carry quietly: the pressure of building a business while holding a family together, expectations placed on them by others, and expectations they place on themselves.
The weekend was designed to acknowledge that and come out with more clarity and confidence.
"The community built... it was such a safe space for women, intimate enough to build lasting connections." — Kath C
The Room We Wanted to Create
Smaller groups. Longer conversations.
The format was intentional. Space to sit with a thought instead of moving past it. We leaned into honesty rather than performance.
A central thread across both days was the idea of invisible weight: the things women carry without naming, and often without putting down.
In a personal keynote, CEO Danica Antonio spoke directly to that weight: the responsibilities, expectations, and quiet pressure many carry while continuing to show up for others with confidence.
EVC Meg Fafila with her keynote, The Life You're Building vs. The Life You're Living: an invitation to notice the gap between the life we're working toward and the one we're actually inside of, and to ask what closing that gap might really require.
EVC Eunice Dator leading Called, Chosen, Valuable: Understanding Your Worth as a Woman.
A panel conversation with Danica Antonio, CDO Pearl Rebollos, and Shaleen Kim of BFL CANADA brought forward different perspectives on leadership, identity, partnership, and what growth looks like for someone navigating multiple roles at once.
Debb Dimoff led sessions including The Power of I and a Hormonal Power Series, walking through the different stages of a woman's life and how those shifts can influence energy, identity, and the way women show up in both life and leadership.
Pearl Rebollos along with Danica Antonio also led a hands-on workshop called The Many Hats We Wear. Attendees created three paper hats — The Nurturer, The Leader, and The Dreamer — each reflecting a different dimension of who they are. Then they assembled all three into a single crown. The closing message: you are not too much. You are enough. You are royalty.
EVC Eunice Dator led a session titled Called, Chosen, Valuable: Understanding Your Worth as a Woman, grounding the weekend in a deeper reminder of identity and self-worth beyond roles, expectations, or performance.
Around the room, small invitations to reflect: a quiet station where attendees could write a letter to the woman they were becoming, sealed and held to be returned a year from today. An ice breaker bingo activity built around conversations rather than checkboxes. The focus throughout stayed on the person, not just the performer.
Two Moments That Stayed
Letting go, and being heard.
There was a reflection exercise called What You're Done Carrying. Attendees wrote down what they were ready to release, then physically rip it to let it go.
It's a simple act, but the kind industry events rarely make space for.
Another was Her Circle - I See You, built around a rare instruction:
Don't fix. Don't advise. Just listen.
Many shared afterward that they hadn't been listened to like that in a long time. Some said years.
The women in the room ranged from age 18 to 72. Some were experienced agents. Some were Greatway students just beginning their path in the industry. By the second day, that didn't matter. What stood out wasn't any single talk or activity. It was the recognition, again and again, that the experiences each woman thought she was navigating alone were shared by the women sitting beside her.
What This Means to Us
The person behind the title.
Greatway Financial is known for what we build: a growing community of agents, a strong culture, and a focus on leadership development. Her Greatway reflects that same commitment, just directed inward.
It comes from something we believe across the company: that the person behind the title matters, and that taking care of that person is part of doing this work well.
Our agents already know this. Her Greatway is part of how we make it visible.
What stays with us most isn't a single takeaway.
It's the women who walked in not knowing each other, and walked out connected. More lighter than when they arrived.
We'll keep building toward more spaces like this.
